The name means ‘The Beehive’ – not surprising when you consider that the family who built the house also produced and sold their honey there.

The main living accommodation is on the first floor.  The front door opens into a spacious dining kitchen which faces south over the pool, hills and woods.  The beech dining table extends to seat 8 comfortably, whilst the working area comprises double sinks, cooker with fan-assisted oven, fridge, (freezer is in downstairs kitchen) microwave, full-size kettle and enough equipment to keep chefs of all flavours happy.

The door to your left opens into the comfortably furnished sitting room with satellite T.V., (4 BBC and 4 ITV stations) CD/DVD player, radio, a log-burning fireplace and French windows which open onto a small balcony – and those views again.

At the far end of the hall you’ll find a bathroom with bath, shower, WC and hand basin.  This bathroom can be open to the whole family or, together with the adjacent bedroom, can be separated off as part of a self-contained en-suite. In this bedroom, you can have either two single beds or one 6ft Super King-size.  Our booking form asks which option you prefer so that we can have the beds made up ready for your arrival.

The middle bedroom opens off the hall: it has two single beds and hanging space for clothes. Bedroom 1 has its own small en-suite shower room with WC and handbasin.  The bed is a 5ft King size. 

All the bedrooms are now double-glazed and can be cooled by fans.

Downstairs we have converted the former honey workshop into a games area with table tennis and billiards.  There is a laundry area with automatic washing machine, tumble dryer and clothes airer.  You can also keep two cars here out of the heat of the sun.

Opening off this area is a separate room – the Terrace Studio - comprising our fully-equipped ‘summer kitchen’cum living room with two chairs which convert to one double or two single beds. This studio has its own full-size cooker, fridge and freezer.  It has French doors opening onto the pool and barbecue terrace.  There is a separate shower room with WC for use by guests in the Studio as well as by swimmers.  We have included an  extra cot for downstairs use so that all the family can be together by the pool. 

Outside, the main attraction is the pool which measures 3.5m x 7.5m with wide, shallow steps to an overall depth of 1.5m.  In accordance with new French legislation, this pool is fitted with an alarm and is in an enclosed area.  Having complied with this legislation and taken all measures possible within their powers to ensure that the pool in proper use does not present any dangers to clients, THE OWNERS DELEGATE ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY IN THE POOL TO THEIR TENANTS.  Our booking form will ask you to accept this delegation of responsibility for the duration of your stay.

The built-in brick barbecue and teak dining furniture offer you the chance to eat outside, and of course the summer kitchen is close at hand.

Sun loungers and parasols complete the outdoor furniture.
